The ISCAR 6095369 is a solid carbide milling insert in the GSFN 3 series, designed for high-performance grooving and parting operations on CNC milling machines. It carries an IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating over a submicron carbide substrate, delivering heat resistance and edge retention across demanding cut conditions. The insert has a rectangular shape, a positive rake geometry, a 7-degree relief angle, and a single cutting edge. The inscribed circle measures 0.1189 inches with a cutting edge effective length of 0.1190 inches and a corner radius of 0.0079 inches. Machinists and CNC tool setters working in job shops or production environments install this insert using the Self Grip holding method.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. It is a single-sided, neutral-hand insert, making it appropriate for use in compatible SGSF cutter bodies. Typical applications include slot milling, grooving, and face grooving operations where edge stability and coating durability are critical. The IC908 grade is particularly effective in moderate to high cutting speeds on materials that generate significant cutting heat.
Compatible with SGSF series cutter bodies. Designed for use in Self Grip-style milling systems per ANSI and ISO 13399 standards with ANSI code GSFN 3 IC908 and ISO code GSFN 3.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tool setter with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the insert under the Self Grip clamping mechanism. Do not exceed the cutter body's recommended depth-of-cut or feed-rate limits for this insert size. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping force and runout.
