The ISCAR 6094895 is a single-end carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the GFR insert style under ISCAR's Self-Grip series, it carries the IC-354 PVD-coated grade, a coating selected for its edge toughness and wear resistance on difficult-to-machine materials. The insert delivers a 4.00 mm (0.1575 inch) cutting width, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.25 mm (0.0098 inch) corner radius. A J-style chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation and evacuation during cut-off cycles. The part is solid carbide throughout and is held in the toolholder by a clamp-style holding method.
This insert is intended for cut-off and grooving applications in production and job-shop turning environments. Its IC-354 PVD grade and J chipbreaker combination target stainless steel and general steel workpiece materials, matching ISO material codes M and P. Right-hand orientation suits standard OD turning setups. Machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers.
