The ISCAR 6093315 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the PentaCut series, identified by the full designation PENTA24N200PF020 with manufacturer grade IC908. The insert features a 2.00 mm (0.0787 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, and a PVD coating applied over a submicron carbide substrate. The IC908 grade is a coated carbide formulated for universal workpiece material compatibility. A 0.20 mm corner radius and 7-degree relief angle define the cutting geometry. The PF chipbreaker promotes chip control across a broad range of grooving and parting applications. This insert is used by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC lathes and turning centers.
This insert suits grooving and parting operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nonferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with ISO material codes P, M, K, H, and S. The PentaCut series is designed for screw-clamped toolholders that accept the PENTA24N insert style. Maximum depth of cut reaches 6.50 mm (0.2560 inch), making this insert applicable to both shallow grooving and full parting operations on small to medium diameter stock. It is sold in a minimum order quantity of 5 inserts.
Designed for use with PentaCut series screw-clamped toolholders that accept the PENTA24N insert style. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
