The ISCAR 6011411 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Tang-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a 4 mm (0.1575 inch) cutting width, a 4-degree left-hand lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle for clean, controlled chip separation. The IC808 grade combines a PVD-applied multilayer coating of TiAlN, AlTiN, and TiN to deliver heat resistance and edge durability across a wide range of workpiece materials. The J chipbreaker geometry promotes efficient chip control during through-part cutoff cycles. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC technicians working in production and job-shop turning environments.
The ISCAR 6011411 is suited for parting and cutoff applications on universal workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys (ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S). The left-hand orientation and 4-degree lead angle make this insert appropriate for specific toolholder configurations requiring a directed cutting approach. It fits Tang-Grip style toolholders designed to accept the TAG L4J-4D insert geometry. This insert is a single-use, non-reversible design intended for high-precision turning operations where dimensional consistency at the parting line is critical.
Designed for use with Tang-Grip series toolholders accepting the TAG L4J-4D insert style. Compatible with universal workpiece materials across ISO groups P, M, K, H, and S. Verify toolholder model and insert seat specification before installation to confirm proper fit and clamping.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the appropriate ISCAR Tang-Grip toolholder and follow the manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw to avoid seat damage. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not use damaged or improperly seated inserts, as this can cause insert fracture or dimensional error at the parting line.
