The ISCAR 6011373 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert carrying the DGN2202J designation and IC830 manufacturer grade. It delivers a 2.2 mm (0.0866 inch) cutting width with a neutral lead angle and neutral hand orientation, making it suitable for both left- and right-hand setups without repositioning. The IC830 grade features a PVD coating process applied over a solid carbide substrate, targeting high-temperature performance in demanding cuts. A J-style chipbreaker controls chip flow during grooving and parting operations. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians on lathes and turning centers configured for Do-Grip toolholders.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting applications on superalloy workpiece materials, with primary workpiece material codes M, P, and S per ISO classification. The Do-Grip series clamping system secures the insert during interrupted and continuous cuts. Maximum depth of cut reaches 18.00 mm (0.7087 inch), giving it range for moderate-depth grooves. The double-end design allows the insert to be flipped when one end reaches end of life, extending usable tool life per unit. Typical use is on production turning equipment in job shop or manufacturing environments where difficult-to-machine materials are common.
Designed for use with Do-Grip series clamping toolholders that accept insert seat size 2. Compatible with grooving and parting applications on superalloy, steel, and stainless workpiece materials per ISO material codes M, P, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the turning center before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate Do-Grip clamping mechanism to secure the insert fully before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert seat for debris or damage before each installation to maintain proper seating and cutting geometry.
