The ISCAR 6011366 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for grooving and parting-off operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the GFN 4 insert style in ISCAR's Self-Grip series, which uses a clamping hold method to lock the insert securely in compatible toolholders without screws. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with an IC354 grade coating applied via PVD process, producing a wear-resistant, coated edge suited for interrupted cuts and continuous parting. Cutting width measures 4.05 mm (0.1594 inches), the lead angle is neutral at 0 degrees, and the relief angle is 7 degrees. Licensed machinists and CNC turning technicians install this insert at the machine tool level.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel and steel workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. It fits typical production turning applications where consistent, repeatable cutoff widths are required. The single-end configuration means one active cutting edge per insert. The Self-Grip series is designed for high clamping force and rigidity, making it appropriate for both light finishing passes and heavier parting cuts where tool deflection must be minimized. Package quantity is 1 insert per unit; minimum order quantity is 10 units.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip series cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept the GFN 4 insert style with clamp-type holding. Refer to the ISCAR Self-Grip toolholder selection guide to confirm holder compatibility before ordering.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-room technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing any insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or damage before installing a new insert, as debris in the pocket can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure. Do not use the insert beyond visible signs of chipping or flank wear, as a damaged cutting edge on a parting operation can cause workpiece deflection or insert breakage.
