The ISCAR 6004785 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the PentaCut series, carrying manufacturer grade IC908 with a PVD-applied TiN and TiAlN coating. The insert features a 1.5 mm (0.0591 inch) cutting width and a neutral lead angle with a neutral hand orientation, making it suited for straight plunge grooving and parting operations. A chipbreaker designation of C promotes chip control across a broad range of workpiece materials. The screw-holding method keeps the insert firmly seated under cutting loads. This insert is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating CNC lathes and turning centers.
The PENTA24N150C010 IC908 insert is designed for grooving and parting applications on a universal range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, as reflected by the ISO material codes H, K, M, P, and S. A maximum depth of cut of 5.00 mm (0.1969 inches) covers standard parting and shallow-to-medium groove depths in both production and job-shop environments. The submicron carbide grade combined with the PVD coating supports stable performance across varying cutting conditions.
Designed for use in PentaCut series toolholders that accept the PENTA 24N insert style. Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and energy-isolated state per lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the screw clamp to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure; do not overtighten or force the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Confirm correct insert orientation and hand before resuming cutting operations.
