The ISCAR 6004498 is a solid carbide double-ended cutoff and parting insert designed for use in Do-Grip style toolholders. Manufactured under the DGR 2202C-6D catalog designation and coated with ISCAR IC808 grade via PVD process, this insert delivers consistent performance in parting and grooving operations. The IC808 submicron carbide grade is engineered for broad material compatibility, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. Key dimensional specs include a 2.2 mm (0.0866 inch) cutting width, a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.20 mm corner radius. The insert uses a mechanical clamp holding method and carries a C-style chipbreaker geometry suited for chip control during deep parting cuts.
This insert is intended for industrial metal cutting applications requiring precise parting and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The right-hand lead angle orientation and Do-Grip insert style (seat size 2) are matched to compatible ISCAR Do-Grip toolholders. The universal primary workpiece material classification (ISO material groups H, K, M, P, S) makes this insert applicable across a wide range of production turning environments, from job shops to high-volume machining cells.
