The ISCAR 6003454 is a single-end carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for precision groove and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to ISO 13399 standards, it belongs to the Tang-Grip series and features a 3 mm (0.1180 inch) cutting width with a 15-degree right-hand lead angle. The insert is produced from IC908-grade carbide with a PVD coating, making it suitable for a broad range of workpiece materials. A 7-degree relief angle and a 0.20 mm corner radius contribute to controlled chip formation and dimensional accuracy during parting operations. Installation is performed by qualified machinists on appropriately tooled turning equipment.
This insert is intended for parting and cutoff applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. The IC908 PVD-coated grade supports universal material compatibility, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The Tang-Grip clamping system secures the insert mechanically, eliminating the need for brazing and allowing fast, repeatable indexing. This makes the insert well suited for both production turning environments and job-shop applications requiring consistent cutoff performance across varied material types.
Designed for use with Tang-Grip series toolholders that accept TAGR3C insert geometry. Compatible with workpiece material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7, and ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before insert replacement. Use the appropriate Tang-Grip clamping mechanism and torque the clamp screw according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating the insert. Confirm correct insert orientation and lead angle direction before resuming cutting operations.
