The ISCAR 6003416 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the PentaCut series, carrying the manufacturer part designation PENTA24N150Z010 with IC908 grade coating. It features a 1.5 mm (0.0590 inch) cutting width and is manufactured from submicron solid carbide with a PVD-applied IC908 coating. The neutral hand and zero-degree lead angle make this insert suitable for straight parting and grooving operations. A 7-degree relief angle and a 0.10 mm corner radius support clean, controlled cuts. This insert is screw-held and designed for use in ISCAR PentaCut toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this type of insert in turning centers and manual lathes.
This insert is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, covering ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S — meaning it handles hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, general steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The Z chipbreaker geometry is suited for grooving and parting applications where chip control is critical. Maximum depth of cut is 5.00 mm (0.1970 inch). The IC908 PVD coating provides wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials, making this a versatile insert for production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in ISCAR PentaCut series toolholders accepting the 24N insert size. Suitable for grooving and parting operations across ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and in a safe, locked-out state. Use the appropriate ISCAR torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder specification — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
