The ISCAR 6003387 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the PentaCut series, designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries an IC1008 manufacturer grade with a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a solid carbide substrate, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. The cutting width measures 2.00 mm (0.0787 inches) with a neutral lead angle and neutral hand orientation. A screw-type insert holding method locks the insert securely in compatible PentaCut toolholders. The corner radius is 0.05 mm (0.0020 inches), and relief angle is 7 degrees. This insert is suited for machinists and toolroom technicians running high-production grooving or cutoff cycles.
The 6003387 is applied in grooving and parting operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. ISO material group codes H, K, M, N, P, and S are supported, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Maximum depth of cut reaches 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches). The P chipbreaker geometry is suited for general-purpose chip control during interrupted or continuous cuts. Overall insert width is 4.00 mm (0.1575 inches). This insert is commonly used in production turning environments in both job shop and high-volume manufacturing settings.
Designed for use in ISCAR PentaCut series toolholding systems accepting PENTA 24N200 style inserts. Compatible with workpiece materials across ISO codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer. Meets ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified for the PentaCut toolholder clamping screw to seat the insert securely before cycling. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 6.00 mm for the application.
