The ISCAR 6003303 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Do-Grip series, designed for external grooving and parting operations on CNC turning centers and lathes. The insert carries the IC908 submicron carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, providing heat resistance and edge durability across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 3.10 mm cutting width, a maximum depth of cut of 18.00 mm, and a neutral hand orientation. The self-grip holding method locks the insert securely in compatible Do-Grip toolholders without additional clamping hardware. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The ISCAR 6003303 suits general-purpose turning operations across universal workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and heat-resistant alloys, as indicated by material codes P, M, K, H, and S. The Do-Grip series is a common choice in high-volume grooving applications where insert change-out speed and repeatability are priorities. The double-end design allows the insert to be flipped for a second cutting edge, reducing per-edge tooling cost in production runs. Typical applications include groove turning, face grooving support setups, and parting-off operations on medium to large diameter workpieces.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series toolholders that accept the DGNC 3102C insert style. Compatible across workpiece material groups P, M, K, H, and S per the manufacturer classification. Verify toolholder slot dimensions and insert size code 3102 compatibility before installation.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before performing any insert change. Seat the insert fully into the Do-Grip toolholder slot and confirm the self-grip mechanism is engaged before resuming cutting. Inspect the insert seat and toolholder pocket for chips or damage at each change interval to maintain dimensional accuracy.
