The ISCAR 6003138 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Self-Grip series, designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the GFN 2 insert style with IC908 grade carbide and a PVD coating, this insert delivers consistent performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The cutting width measures 2.20 mm (0.0870 inches) with a 0-degree lead angle and a 7-degree relief angle, making it well-suited for tight-tolerance cutoff work. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this insert in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for grooving and parting applications in metalworking operations. Its universal workpiece material compatibility covers steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S. It fits into Self-Grip style toolholders that accept GFN 2 inserts and is held in place by a clamp-style holding method. Single-end geometry provides a defined cutting edge on one side. This insert is sold individually but is subject to a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in Self-Grip series toolholders that accept GFN 2 style inserts. Compatible with workpiece material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7, and ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or toolroom machinist with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamp securely without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Verify insert orientation and confirm cutting edge engagement before resuming machine operation.
