The ISCAR 6003106 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the PentaCut series, designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries the ISCAR grade IC908, a PVD-coated submicron carbide grade engineered for thermal resistance and edge stability across a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 1 mm cutting width and a neutral lead angle, this insert delivers controlled chip formation in tight-tolerance grooving applications. It is held in place by a screw-clamping method, providing secure seating under interrupted cuts and high feed rates. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install this insert as part of a PentaCut toolholder system.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting operations across universal workpiece material categories, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, H, and S. It is used in production turning environments where consistent groove width and surface finish are required. The J chipbreaker geometry supports chip control across varying depths of cut. This insert is a direct replacement component for PentaCut toolholder assemblies and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use with ISCAR PentaCut series toolholders that accept the PENTA 24N insert size. Compatible across universal primary workpiece material categories: ISO material codes H, K, M, P, and S.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key for the clamping screw torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or contamination before seating the new insert.
