The ISCAR 6003100 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the PENTA series, designed for external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the IC1008 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating, this insert delivers wear resistance and edge stability across a wide range of workpiece materials. The right-hand orientation suits standard toolholder configurations. Cutting width is 2.00 mm (0.0787 inches) with a maximum depth of cut of 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches). Chip breaker style is J, and the corner radius is 0.10 mm (0.0039 inches). The insert is screw-clamped into compatible PENTA toolholders, providing rigid, repeatable seating in production environments.
This insert is suited for grooving operations in general machining environments, covering materials designated under ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, which span hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. The J chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in medium-depth grooving passes. Typical applications include groove-to-depth cuts and part-off operations on bar stock and chucked workpieces in production and job-shop turning. The insert is cataloged under PENTA 24R/L200J06D and conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use in PENTA series screw-clamp toolholders compatible with insert size code 24R200J06D. Cataloged under PENTA 24R/L200J06D. Suitable for workpiece material grades C1, C2, C3, C5, and C6 per ISO classification codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Before inserting or replacing the grooving insert, confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct screw-torque driver for PENTA-style inserts as specified in the toolholder manufacturer documentation. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for debris or damage before seating the new insert.
