The ISCAR 6003093 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the PENTA series, designed for external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC1008 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN multilayer coating for extended tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert has a neutral hand orientation, a 1 mm cutting width, and a maximum depth of cut of 3.5 mm. A corner radius of 0.06 mm and a J-style chip breaker geometry support clean chip control and consistent surface finish in finish and semi-finish grooving applications. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting operations on turning centers handling a wide variety of materials. The IC1008 grade with PVD TiAlN and TiN coating is rated for universal primary workpiece material categories, covering material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO designations. That range includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. The PENTA series geometry is suited to applications requiring precise groove width control in both roughing and finishing passes within the 3.0 mm to 4.0 mm maximum depth-of-cut range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for PENTA series toolholders accepting size 24N100J006 inserts. Compatible with workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before installation. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw; do not use impact tools on insert clamping hardware.
