The ISCAR 6003046 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Do-Grip series, this double-ended insert carries the IC1028 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating for extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The cutting width measures 2.20 mm (0.0866 inches) with a 0.20 mm corner radius, and the insert accommodates a maximum depth of cut of 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches). It is suited for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is engineered primarily for parting and cutoff applications on stainless steel and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P. The 6-degree right-hand lead angle geometry and C-style chipbreaker promote controlled chip evacuation and reduce the risk of chip packing during deep cutoff passes. Typical applications include bar stock parting, groove forming, and face grooving where consistent dimensional accuracy across multiple cycles is required. The double-ended design allows both ends to be indexed, extending usable insert life per unit.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series parting and grooving toolholders that accept the DGR 2202 insert style. Verify toolholder seat geometry and clamping system compatibility before installation.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder seat for chips, debris, or damage prior to seating a new insert. Do not mix insert grades or geometries within the same toolholder without confirming compatibility with the toolholder manufacturer's documentation.
