The ISCAR 6003031 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Do-Grip series, designed for high-performance parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC908 manufacturer grade with a PVD coating for extended wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert features a neutral lead angle, a UT chipbreaker geometry, and a 6.00 mm cutting width (0.2362 inches), making it well suited for consistent, repeatable groove profiles. A double-ended design doubles usable life per insert. The 0.80 mm corner radius (0.0315 inches) supports clean shoulder transitions and reduces burr formation on finished workpieces.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting applications across a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S. It fits Do-Grip series toolholders that accept the DGN 6008 insert seat. Typical installation environments include production turning on CNC lathes in job shop, aerospace, automotive, and general machining settings. The multi-use designation confirms compatibility across varied material families without requiring a dedicated grade change for common turning work.
Designed for use in ISCAR Do-Grip series toolholders with DGN 6008 insert pockets. Compatible with ISO material groups P, M, K, H, and S. Material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7 are supported.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret indexed to a safe position before insert removal or seating. Use the appropriate ISCAR Do-Grip clamping key or wrench as specified for the toolholder model to avoid damaging the insert pocket or clamping mechanism. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
