The ISCAR 6002965 is a double-ended carbide cutoff and grooving insert with a 4 mm (0.1575 inch) cutting width, designed for use in the Do-Grip parting and grooving system. It carries the IC908 manufacturer grade, applied with a PVD coating process that provides wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The neutral lead angle and neutral hand orientation make it adaptable for both left- and right-hand toolholders. A 7-degree relief angle and a 0.30 mm (0.0118 inch) corner radius define the cutting geometry. The J chipbreaker pattern controls chip flow during grooving and parting operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers and users of this insert.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting applications across universal workpiece materials, including ferrous, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous, and high-temperature alloy groups. Its ISO material grade designations of C1, C2, C6, and C7 reflect its broad cutting compatibility. It fits Do-Grip series toolholders that accept the DGN 4003J insert style. The double-ended design extends usable insert life, making it a practical choice for production turning centers and manual lathes running moderate to high grooving volumes.
Designed for use in Do-Grip series toolholders accepting the DGN 4003J insert style. Compatible with workpiece material groups coded H, K, M, P, and S per ISO classification. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the toolholder manufacturer-specified clamping screw and key to secure the insert; do not substitute hardware. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination affects rigidity and can alter the groove dimension. Insert changes on CNC turning centers should follow the facility lockout/tagout procedure before any tooling contact.
