The ISCAR 6002953 is a double-ended carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Do-Grip series, this insert carries the DGR 4003J-4D geometry with a 4 mm (0.1575 inch) cutting width and a 4-degree right-hand lead angle. The IC908 grade substrate is PVD-coated carbide, suited for a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and high-temp alloys. A 7-degree relief angle and a 0.30 mm corner radius define its geometry. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and machining professionals relying on insert tooling will recognize this as a production-grade parting solution built to ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is intended for parting and cutoff applications in production turning environments. The DGR 4003J-4D-IC908 designation places it in ISCAR Do-Grip toolholders engineered for rigid, vibration-resistant cutoff work. Its universal workpiece material classification covers material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7 under ISO coding, which spans a wide cross-section of ferrous and non-ferrous shop work. The double-end design allows the insert to be indexed when one cutting edge is worn, extending usable tool life per piece. This insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per order.
Designed for use in ISCAR Do-Grip series DGR-style toolholders that accept 4003 size inserts. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against ISCAR Do-Grip documentation before ordering.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips, wear, or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and secure clamping. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate for this insert size and grade.
