The ISCAR 6002952 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Do-Grip series, designed for high-performance grooving and parting-off operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries manufacturer grade IC908 with a PVD coating, delivering elevated wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 4 mm cutting width, a 4-degree right-hand lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.30 mm corner radius. The double-ended configuration provides two usable cutting edges per insert, extending tool life and reducing per-part tooling cost. This insert is installed and changed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
The DGR 4003C-4D is suited to parting and cutoff operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including materials corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. These groups cover hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, general steels, and heat-resistant superalloys, making this insert a versatile option across job shop and production turning environments. The C chipbreaker geometry supports chip control during parting where chip evacuation is critical to preventing tool failure or workpiece damage.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series parting and grooving toolholders that accept DGR-style inserts with a 4003 insert size code. Rated for ISO material groups H, K, M, P, and S. Material grades C1, C2, C6, and C7 are supported. Confirm toolholder clamp compatibility before ordering.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a fully locked-out, de-energized state per applicable safety procedures. Use the appropriate ISCAR Do-Grip clamping key or torx driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer; do not overtighten the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Verify lead angle orientation matches the toolholder setup before resuming operations.
