The ISCAR 6002943 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, identified by the full designation DGR2000P-6D IC508. It is designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries a PVD-applied TiCN and TiN coating under the IC508 grade, which is engineered for universal workpiece material compatibility. With a right-hand lead angle of 6 degrees and a relief angle of 7 degrees, it provides controlled chip direction and reduced lateral cutting forces. The P chipbreaker geometry promotes chip curl and evacuation in medium-duty parting cuts. Installation and replacement are handled by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.
This insert is suited for parting, grooving, and cutoff applications in metalworking environments, including job shops and production turning operations. The IC508 grade supports use on a wide range of workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S, making it broadly applicable across steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. It is dimensioned for the DGR 2000 insert seat size within the Do-Grip toolholder system and is sold individually with a minimum order of 10 pieces.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series toolholders accepting the DGR 2000 insert seat size. Compatible with workpiece materials in ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine spindle stopped and all axes locked per shop lockout-tagout procedures. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Use the correct torque driver recommended by the toolholder manufacturer for the clamping screw — do not use standard hex keys that may over- or under-torque the clamp. Verify insert orientation and hand designation match the toolholder before taking a test cut.
