The ISCAR 6002752 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert from the Do-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a 3.00 mm cutting width (0.1181 inches), a 6-degree right-hand lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. The IC328 grade substrate is PVD-coated, making it well-suited for machining superalloys and other difficult-to-cut materials. A small 0.20 mm corner radius helps control chip formation while maintaining edge integrity. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install and qualify these inserts as part of a toolholder system.
This insert is intended for parting and cutoff applications where tight dimensional control and reliable chip evacuation are required. The Do-Grip clamping system secures the insert mechanically without top clamping interference, which is advantageous in deep-groove and cutoff scenarios on both manual and CNC turning equipment. The IC328 PVD-coated grade targets superalloys (ISO material code S) but is also rated for steel (P) and stainless steel (M) workpiece materials per ISO material classification. This makes the insert appropriate for aerospace, medical, and general industrial turning applications.

Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate ISCAR Do-Grip clamping key to secure the insert fully into the toolholder pocket before test cuts. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before installation, as contamination can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure. Qualified machinists should verify lead angle orientation matches the toolholder setup before engaging the workpiece.
