The ISCAR 6002749 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, designed for grooving and parting operations in CNC turning applications. Manufactured in grade IC328 with a PVD coating, this insert delivers consistent performance when machining superalloys and other difficult-to-cut materials. The 3.00 mm cutting width and 15-degree left-hand lead angle suit high-precision parting cuts where controlled chip flow and edge integrity are critical. The JS chipbreaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The double-end design extends usable insert life by providing two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is intended for use on CNC lathes and turning centers equipped with compatible Do-Grip clamp-style toolholders. It is best suited for parting and cutoff operations on superalloy workpieces, though its material grade range of C2, C3, C5, and C6 covers a broad spectrum of machining applications. Installation requires a compatible ISCAR Do-Grip clamp-style blade or holder accepting the HGL 3000 insert geometry. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolroom technicians, and production turning operations handling aerospace or high-temperature alloy components.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series clamp-style blade holders accepting the HGL 3000 insert size. Primary workpiece material is superalloy; material grade codes C2, C3, C5, and C6 indicate broader carbide application compatibility. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out, and de-energized state. Seat the insert fully into the Do-Grip clamp pocket before tightening the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before each insert change to ensure proper seating and clamping force. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for torque and clamping procedure.
