The ISCAR 6002676 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the GFL insert style designation, this single-end insert measures 4.8 mm (0.1890 inches) in cutting width with an 8-degree left-hand lead angle and a 7-degree relief angle. The corner radius is 0.28 mm (0.0110 inches). Manufactured to the IC354 carbide grade with a PVD coating process, it is engineered for wear resistance and edge stability during parting cuts on steel and stainless steel workpieces. The C chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in these applications.
This insert is suited for parting and cutoff operations in production turning environments, including both general steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpiece materials. The Self-Grip series clamping method provides secure insert retention under the lateral forces generated during parting. It is a left-hand insert, making it appropriate for setups requiring that hand orientation. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, contract manufacturing, and production turning applications will find this insert compatible with ISCAR GFL-series toolholders designed for the 4.8 mm insert size.
Designed for use with ISCAR Self-Grip series GFL-style toolholders sized for 4.8 mm cutoff inserts. Suitable for ISO P (steel) and ISO M (stainless steel) workpiece material groups per ISO 13399.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and all axes locked before insert changeover. Confirm the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Verify left-hand orientation is correct for the specific toolholder and programmed cutting direction before resuming operation. Consult the toolholder manufacturer specifications for clamping torque and recommended cutting parameters.
