The ISCAR 6002647 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Do-Grip series, designed for high-performance parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the IC308 grade with a PVD coating, making it well-suited for cutting superalloys and a broad range of steel and exotic materials. The insert features a 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.25 mm corner radius. The UT chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation in demanding grooving applications. Machinists and CNC programmers specify this insert for consistent, repeatable cutting performance in tight-tolerance parting and deep grooving operations.
This insert is intended for grooving and parting applications in production machining environments, including aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing where superalloys, steels, and similar materials are common workpiece materials. Primary workpiece material codes include M, P, and S per ISO designation. The double-end design provides two usable cutting edges per insert, extending tool life and reducing per-part tooling cost. It is compatible with Do-Grip clamping-style toolholders that accept the DGN insert style and 3003 size code. The insert conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use with Do-Grip series clamping-style toolholders accepting DGN insert style in the 3003 size code. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO codes M (stainless), P (steel), and S (superalloy). Material grades C6 and C7 apply.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket before engaging the clamping screw, and inspect the pocket for chips or debris prior to installation. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications. Verify insert orientation and cutting edge condition before returning the machine to operation.
