The ISCAR 6002596 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GFR3 insert style with ISCAR IC354 grade coating, this single-end insert features a 3.00 mm cutting width and a 4-degree right-hand lead angle. The PVD-coated carbide construction targets stainless steel and steel workpieces, making it well-suited for high-production environments where tool life and edge consistency matter. A 0.20 mm corner radius and 7-degree relief angle support clean, controlled cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, oil and gas, or general manufacturing will find this insert fits into demanding production routines.
This insert is intended for cut-off and parting applications on steel and stainless steel materials. It belongs to ISCAR's Self-Grip series, which uses a clamping hold method to secure the insert during aggressive radial feeds. The right-hand orientation and 4-degree lead angle are suited for standard front-face parting on conventional lathe setups. ISO 13399 compliance ensures compatibility with digital tooling management and CAM software tool libraries. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per transaction.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip series cutoff and grooving toolholders that accept GFR3-style inserts with clamp-type holding. Suitable for machining ISO material groups P (steel) and M (stainless steel) at ISO material grades C5 and C6.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct ISCAR clamping tool for the Self-Grip system to avoid damaging the insert seat or clamping mechanism. Verify insert orientation and lead angle direction match the toolholder before resuming cutting operations.
