The ISCAR 6002585 is a solid carbide double-ended cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, cataloged under manufacturer part number DGR 2200JS-6D with grade IC328. It is designed for parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers, delivering a 2.2 mm (0.0866 inch) cutting width with a 6-degree right-hand lead angle and a 7-degree relief angle. The PVD-coated carbide body carries material grades C2, C3, C5, and C6, making it suitable for demanding cutting applications. A corner radius of 0.02 mm minimizes edge chipping at the cut entry point. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert as part of toolholder assemblies that use a clamp-style holding method.
This insert is primarily rated for superalloy workpiece materials (ISO material codes M, P, and S), making it well suited for aerospace, energy, and industrial precision turning environments where difficult materials require controlled chip formation. The JS chipbreaker geometry promotes reliable chip evacuation during parting and grooving passes. With a maximum depth of cut of 18.0 mm (0.7087 inch) and an overall insert length of 20.6 mm (0.8110 inch), it fits standard Do-Grip series toolholders used on production turning equipment.
Designed for use with ISCAR Do-Grip series clamp-style toolholders that accept the DGR 2200 insert size. Conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be at a complete stop and the control placed in an e-stop or lockout state before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer-specified procedure when seating the clamp — do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or wear before seating a new insert, as debris in the pocket will affect insert positioning and can cause premature edge failure.
