The insert features a 3.03 mm (0.1193 inch) cutting width, a neutral lead angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 0.20 mm corner radius. It belongs to ISCAR's Self-Grip insert series and is sized to seat in an Insert Seat Size 3 toolholder. Installation and application are appropriate for experienced machinists and tooling technicians working in production turning environments.
This insert is rated for primary application in grooving and parting operations, with a primary workpiece material designation of Superalloy, corresponding to ISO material codes M, P, and S. Superalloy cutting demands a tough, wear-resistant substrate with a reliable PVD coating to manage heat and maintain edge integrity at the cutting zone. Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for ISCAR Self-Grip series toolholders accepting an Insert Seat Size 3 and GFN-style insert geometry. Confirm toolholder seat size and insert style code before ordering.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Use the appropriate ISCAR torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure — do not overtighten clamping screws. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Verify correct insert orientation relative to the workpiece centerline before resuming cutting operations.
