The ISCAR 6002533 is a double-ended solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the Cut-Grip series, designated DGN 3003UA with manufacturer grade IC328. It carries a 3.00 mm (0.1181 inches) cutting width and an overall length of 20.50 mm (0.807 inches). The IC328 grade uses a PVD coating process with TiN and TiCN layers, targeting difficult-to-machine superalloys and a broad material grade range of P45-K40. The UA chipbreaker geometry and neutral lead angle suit both grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Licensed machinists and tooling specialists install and index this insert as part of a self-grip toolholder system.
This insert is designed for grooving and parting applications across ferrous, stainless, and superalloy workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material codes M, P, and S. It is applicable in both production turning environments and job-shop settings where a single insert geometry must handle multiple material families. The maximum depth of cut is 18.01 mm (0.709 inches), making it suitable for moderate-depth grooving slots as well as full parting operations on bar stock. The double-end configuration allows the insert to be flipped for a second cutting edge before replacement, extending tooling life per unit.
Designed for use in ISCAR Cut-Grip series self-grip toolholders that accept DGN-style inserts with a 3003 size code. Confirm toolholder pocket specifications before installation.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate insert seating tool or torx key specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not force the insert into the pocket by hand or with improvised tools. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect insert clamping force and cutting geometry. Follow the machine tool builder and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for insert orientation and coolant direction when setting up for parting operations.
