The ISCAR 6002514 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the GFF4 insert style in ISCAR IC354 grade, this insert features a TiCN Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating that provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted cuts and high-surface-finish passes. The cutting width measures 0.1575 inches (4.00 mm), the corner radius is 0.0098 inches (0.25 mm), and the rake angle is 7 degrees positive. The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for standard radial grooving without left- or right-hand bias. Installation and indexing are handled by ISCAR Self-Grip toolholders, eliminating the need for a clamping screw.
This insert is engineered primarily for grooving and cutoff work in stainless steel and general steel alloys, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes M and P. The IC354 PVD-coated grade is well suited to applications where built-up edge and workpiece sticking are concerns, particularly in stainless steel. It fits into the Self-Grip insert holding system used across ISCAR turning toolholders that accept Size 4 GFF-series inserts. The GFF profile with a full-radius-free geometry and a 0-degree lead angle supports consistent chip formation in shallow-to-medium depth grooving operations on both manual and CNC turning equipment. This insert is sold individually and carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces per transaction.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip toolholders that accept Size 4 GFF-series grooving inserts. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel (ISO code M) and steel (ISO code P). Material grade classification is C5 and C6. Manufacturers catalog number for cross-reference is GFF 4N.
This insert is seated and retained by the Self-Grip clamping mechanism in the mating ISCAR toolholder — no clamping screw is required, but the holder pocket must be clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge on hard surfaces. Consult the toolholder manufacturer specifications and machine shop safety procedures when setting cutting parameters for stainless steel or steel workpieces.
