The ISCAR 6002351 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the Do-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the DGL insert style with an IC354 PVD-coated grade, this double-ended insert delivers consistent performance on stainless steel and steel workpieces. The 3.10 mm cutting width and left-hand lead angle orientation make it a precise fit for left-hand Do-Grip toolholders. The IC354 grade is engineered for tough, heat-resistant alloys where edge toughness and wear resistance are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments will find this insert compatible with ISO 13399 tooling data standards.
This insert is suited for production parting and grooving applications in both job shop and high-volume turning environments. Its primary workpiece material classifications cover stainless steel and general steel, spanning ISO material codes M and P. The 18.00 mm maximum depth of cut supports deep grooving and full parting on medium-diameter bar stock. The C chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation, reducing the risk of chip packing in deep-groove applications. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use with left-hand Do-Grip series toolholders that accept DGL-style inserts with a 3.10 mm cutting width. Confirm toolholder pocket specifications before installation to ensure proper seating and clamping.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully stopped and all axes locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct Do-Grip clamping key or wrench to seat and secure the insert — do not overtighten or force the insert into the pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new insert. Verify lead angle direction matches the toolholder orientation before initiating a cut.
