The ISCAR 6001383 is a solid carbide milling insert in the GSFN 6 IC20 configuration, designed for high-precision slotting and grooving operations on a range of demanding workpiece materials. Manufactured from uncoated IC20 solid carbide, this insert features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a honed cutting edge for clean, controlled chip formation. With an inscribed circle of 0.2508 inches and a cutting edge effective length of 0.2510 inches, it is built for tight-tolerance work. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on compatible milling cutters in the SGSF self-grip series.
This insert is suited for applications involving stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a variety of cutting setups. Its single-sided, single cutting edge design is typical for precision self-grip tooling systems where secure, repeatable clamping is required. Typical use cases include CNC milling centers and manual mills where slot widths and groove profiles must be held to close dimensional tolerances. The ANSI code is GSFN 6 IC20 and the ISO code is GSFN 6, conforming to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards.
Designed for use with the ISCAR SGSF self-grip cutter series. Conforms to ANSI code GSFN 6 IC20 and ISO code GSFN 6 per ISO 13399.
Installation of milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torque tool specified for the SGSF cutter body to seat the self-grip insert without over-stressing the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping surfaces for debris or damage before seating. Confirm insert orientation and hand match the cutter body requirements before initiating a cut.
