The ISCAR 6000133 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the GFL insert style in the Self-Grip series, it features a 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch) cutting width and a left-hand lead angle of 4 degrees. The IC20 grade solid carbide substrate is delivered bright and uncoated, making it well-suited for a wide range of workpiece materials. A corner radius of 0.20 mm (0.0079 inch) provides controlled edge geometry at the cutting tip. This insert is a single-end design held in place by a clamp-style toolholder. It is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for cut-off and parting applications across a broad material range. The IC20 grade and universal primary workpiece material designation make it applicable to steel, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, and S. It is commonly used in high-volume turning operations where consistent parting geometry and repeatable insert seating are required. The Self-Grip series clamping method is designed for rigid, positive insert retention without the use of a top clamp screw, reducing changeover time at the machine.
Designed for use in ISCAR Self-Grip series GFL-style clamp-type toolholders that accept a size-3 cutoff insert. Confirm toolholder model number and insert pocket geometry before ordering. This is a single-end insert; it is not reversible.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before changing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is stopped, the program is paused, and the turret is in a safe index position. The insert is seated into the Self-Grip clamping pocket and secured by closing the clamp; no torque wrench is required for the clamping mechanism, but always follow the toolholder manufacturer's seating procedure. Verify insert orientation and cutting direction before resuming the program, as this is a left-hand insert and must be matched to a left-hand toolholder pocket.
