The ISCAR 5921250 is a laydown-style internal threading insert designed for partial-profile 60-degree thread forms. Built from solid carbide and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert operates across a thread pitch range of 48 to 16 TPI (0.50 to 1.50 mm pitch), covering a broad range of internal threading applications. The 1/4-inch (0.2500-inch) inscribed circle and 0.1260-inch thickness conform to the 11IRM insert style standard. The IC808 grade is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility. Right-hand cutting geometry and an M-type chipbreaker make this insert suited to CNC turning centers and boring bars used in precision thread production.
This insert is intended for internal threading operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by the multi-code material classification (H, K, M, N, P, S). Typical applications include threading bores on turned components in manufacturing, job shop, and production environments. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators working with compatible ISCARTHREAD series toolholders. The insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use with ISCARTHREAD series toolholders accepting the 11IRM laydown insert style. Verify holder bore and clamping geometry against ISCAR tooling documentation before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or clamping screw driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to achieve proper seating — do not over-torque the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert. Confirm thread pitch and hand designation against the workpiece drawing before commencing the threading cycle.
