The ISCAR 5902135 is a laydown-style indexable threading insert designed for external ISO thread turning operations. It is manufactured from solid carbide with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating and carries the IC908 manufacturer grade. The insert uses a 16ER style designation, features a right-hand cutting orientation, and is sized at a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle with a thickness of 0.143 inches. The IC908 grade is suited for universal workpiece material applications across a broad range of material groups. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production threading and repair threading environments.
This insert is intended for external ISO-standard threading on CNC lathes and turning centers. With a 0.50 mm pitch and a corner radius of 0.04 mm (0.0016 inches), it is well suited for fine-pitch threading work across multiple material types including steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 16ER style fits compatible ISCAR ISCARTHREAD toolholders designed for that insert geometry.

This insert is installed and indexed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified for the toolholder to avoid insert movement or damage to the seating pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
