The ISCAR 5901920 is a laydown-style threading insert engineered for right-hand internal ISO thread cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide in the IC908 grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this insert delivers thermal resistance and edge retention across a wide range of workpiece materials. It carries an ISO 13399 classification and fits the 16IR insert style. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.3750 inches) and insert thickness is 0.143 inches. A 0.003-inch corner radius keeps thread root geometry precise at a 1.50mm pitch.
This insert is suited for internal threading operations where ISO-standard thread profiles are required. The IC908 grade with PVD TiAlN coating supports universal workpiece material compatibility, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials as reflected by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is a standard single-insert package item within the ISCARTHREAD series and is ordered in multiples of five.
Designed for use in 16IR-style internal threading toolholders within the ISCARTHREAD series. Cuts right-hand internal ISO threads at a 1.50mm pitch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping screw are clean and free of chips before mounting. Verify insert orientation and thread hand against the programmed toolpath before resuming cutting operations.
