The ISCAR 5700453 is a single-tipped Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) turning insert in the DCMT style, designed for high-efficiency machining of non-ferrous metals. Built on ISCAR's Isoturn series platform, this uncoated insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle of 7 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inch (0.3748 inch decimal), insert length is 11.60 mm (0.4567 inch), and insert thickness is 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch). With a corner radius of 0.0079 inch and a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm (0.1181 inch), this insert suits finishing and semi-finishing operations where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is held by screw-type clamping and conforms to ISO 13399 standards.
This insert is intended for turning operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials, including aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and similar materials where PCD tooling delivers superior tool life and surface quality compared to carbide alternatives. It fits screw-on DCMT-style toolholders common in CNC lathe and turning center applications, both in job-shop and production environments. This insert is installed and indexed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to toolholder specification without overtightening the insert seat. Verify insert seating and runout before resuming cutting operations.
