The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral rake and a 0-degree relief angle (Clearance Code N), making it engineered for high-hardness and cast iron turning applications. It measures 15.50 mm (0.6102 inches) in length with an inscribed circle of 0.5000 inches and an insert thickness of 0.1874 inches. A 1/32-inch corner radius (0.0315 inches) is built in to balance edge strength and surface finish. The IB50 grade CBN composition is designed to handle interrupted and continuous cuts in hard and abrasive materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this tooling insert.
This insert is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations on cast iron and hard materials, consistent with Primary Workpiece Material Codes H and K under ISO 13399 classification. Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedure for DNMA-style pockets.
