The ISCAR 5697828 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation ADKT 150564R-HM in grade IC928. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-style insert with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. With a positive rake geometry, honed cutting edge, and two cutting edges per insert, this piece is engineered for productive face and shoulder milling in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The HM chip breaker geometry manages chip flow across those demanding materials. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians install these inserts in production and job-shop environments where consistent edge performance and coating durability are required.
This insert fits the ISCAR HELIMILL platform and is compatible with cutter bodies in the ETS, FTS, ADK, and E90 series. It is suited for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in steel and stainless steel components as well as superalloy and titanium workpieces. The 15-degree relief angle and positive rake reduce cutting forces, making it a practical choice for lower-rigidity setups or spindles where minimizing vibration is a priority. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and ramping operations in aerospace, general machining, and precision fabrication environments.
Compatible with ISCAR HELIMILL cutter bodies in the ETS, FTS, ADK, and E90 series. Screw-held mounting. Intended for right-hand cut orientation. Verify cutter body insert seat specifications before installation.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the cutter body is secured before seating or removing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as solid carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under uneven clamping load. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination in the pocket affects runout and edge life.
