The ISCAR 5694945 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI designation APKT 100310PDR-RM in grade IC328. It is a single-sided, right-hand, parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake geometry and an 11-degree relief angle. The TiCN coating is applied via PVD process, providing wear resistance suited for demanding milling operations. With a corner radius of 0.0394 inches (1.00 mm) and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, this insert delivers controlled chip formation and edge stability. It is installed by machinists and tooling technicians working with indexable milling cutters in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to material grade classifications C2, C3, C5, and C6 (ISO P, M, and S workpiece material codes). It belongs to the HELIMILL series and is compatible with HM90-10 cutter bodies. The RM chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip evacuation across a range of depths of cut up to 0.386 inches (8.00 mm). Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose indexable milling in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces.
Designed for use with ISCAR HELIMILL series HM90-10 cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards under the designation APKT 100310PDR-RM IC328. Suited for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Secure the insert using the appropriate torx or hex key for the cutter body screw per the cutter manufacturer's tooling manual. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
