The ISCAR 5669473 is a carbide thread mill insert designed for internal UN thread milling applications. Manufactured to the MT LNHU insert style with size code 2104, this insert carries the IC908 manufacturer grade and features a TiAlN finish applied via PVD coating process. The IC908 grade uses a submicron carbide substrate engineered for wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. At 0.189 inches thick and 8 teeth per inch, it delivers consistent thread form in demanding milling operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for internal UN thread milling at 8 TPI in both production and maintenance machining contexts. The universal primary workpiece material classification covers a wide range of material groups, including ISO material codes H, K, M, P, and S, making it adaptable across ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as superalloys. It fits into the ISCAR MillThread series tooling system and conforms to ISO 13399 standards for cutting tool data representation.
Designed for use with ISCAR MillThread series thread milling toolholders accepting the MT LNHU insert style. Suitable for internal UN thread milling applications across universal workpiece material classifications per ISO 13399.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert - do not overtighten the clamping screw. Confirm insert seating and thread form engagement before resuming cutting operations.
