The ISCAR 5667874 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-efficiency face and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the ANSI designation IQ845 SYHU 0704ADN-P IC28, this insert fits the DOVEIQMILL IQ845 cutter series and is engineered for non-ferrous metal applications. The square SYHU insert geometry provides 8 usable cutting edges per insert, reducing tooling cost per edge. The IC28 uncoated carbide grade delivers sharp, consistent cutting action on aluminum, copper alloys, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. A 1/32-inch corner radius and honed cutting edge style support stable chip formation at depth. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.181 inches (4.60 mm), suitable for moderate to aggressive milling passes in appropriate setups.
This insert is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where the IQ845 DOVEIQMILL cutter body is mounted. Primary application is non-ferrous metal machining, including aluminum and copper-based alloys, in production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand designation allows use in standard right-hand cutter configurations. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians following standard indexable insert change procedures. The insert is secured via screw-hold clamping consistent with the IQ845 cutter system design.
Designed for use with the ISCAR IQ845 DOVEIQMILL cutter series. Insert size code 0704 with an inscribed circle of 0.5433 inches. Confirm cutter body pocket specifications match before installation.
Indexable milling inserts are installed and indexed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten or use impact tools. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert edge.
