The ISCAR 5623199 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal applications in professional machining environments. It carries a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and a 1 inch length of cut, with a 3.5 inch overall length and a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The cutting geometry features 4 right-hand helical flutes at a medium helix angle with a variable index design, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. An AlTiN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and high-temperature alloys. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
The 5623199 belongs to ISCARs ECI-E4-CF Chatter Free series, a short-length end mill family optimized for rigidity and vibration damping. It is designed for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, non-centercutting design with a straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in a standard toolholder. The submicron carbide grade and normal pitch flute configuration support consistent chip evacuation during aggressive side milling and profile work on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use with a standard toolholder accepting a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank (shank diameter tolerance h6). Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H. Part of the ISCAR ECI-E4-CF series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before mounting. Secure the shank in a collet chuck or end mill holder torqued per the toolholder manufacturers specification; do not rely on set-screw holders alone for high-speed or heavy radial cuts. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning production cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
