The ISCAR 5622529 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. The tool measures 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and a 3.5-inch overall length. It features five flutes with a variable flute type and a 38-degree helix angle, enabling both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.016-inch chamfer width adds a precise edge break to workpiece corners without requiring a secondary operation. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds.
This end mill is built for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, and helical interpolation operations. The extended reach design and close pitch spacing make it effective in deep-pocket and tight-clearance setups. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holders. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool intended for CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/2-inch collet or end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of the ISCAR ECI-E5-CF series, catalog number ECI-E5L500-1.25C500CF.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and degrade chamfer accuracy.
