The ISCAR 5620970 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal cutting in CNC machining centers and manual milling operations. With a 1/4 inch diameter and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, this six-flute tool delivers a high feed-per-tooth rate and excellent surface finish on a wide range of workpiece materials. The 45-degree helix angle reduces cutting forces and promotes chip evacuation. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install this type of tooling on vertical and horizontal milling platforms.
This end mill is rated for use across multiple workpiece material groups, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The extra-long 4 inch overall length makes it suitable for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The straight cylindrical 1/4 inch shank fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders designed for 1/4 inch bore.
Rated for primary workpiece material groups H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Fits any standard 1/4 inch bore collet chuck or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet chuck or end mill holder and torque to the machine manufacturer's specification for the holder type in use. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use and replace the tool when flank wear exceeds acceptable limits for the material being cut.
