The ISCAR 5620962 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.3130-inch cutting diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length with a 0.3125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Six spiral flutes with a 45-degree helix angle promote aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The TiAlN coating enhances heat resistance and tool life when cutting at elevated surface speeds. This end mill is produced in ISCAR material grade IC900, suited for a broad range of workpiece materials. It is single-end, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute with no chipbreaker geometry.
This end mill is intended for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines used in job shops, production shops, and toolrooms. The long-reach geometry, with a 1.25-inch length of cut in a long-length configuration, makes it well suited for side milling, slotting, and profiling where standard-length tooling cannot reach the full depth of the feature. Compatible workpiece material codes listed by the manufacturer include H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, general steels, and high-temperature alloys.
Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S as designated by the manufacturer, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, general steels, and high-temperature alloys. The 0.3125-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard 5/16-inch collets and end mill holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use. Run-out should be verified at setup to maximize tool life and surface finish quality.
