The ISCAR 5620953 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built to ISCAR material grade IC900 with a submicron grain carbide substrate, it carries a TiAlN finish that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed cutting. The cutter measures 5/16 inch in diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. Four spiral flutes at a 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a centercutting, single-end tool intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians across a range of metalworking operations.
This end mill suits milling operations on a broad range of materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon steels, and heat-resistant superalloys, as indicated by primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard collet and end mill holders. Its regular-length profile makes it well suited to general-purpose slot milling, profiling, and pocketing where clearance is not a constraint. It is appropriate for both CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where spindle runout is controlled and proper tool holding is used.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Suitable for milling material groups H, K, M, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
