The ISCAR 5620947 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter, 0.562-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, this single-end tool is built for material removal in both roughing and finishing operations. The 3-flute, right-hand helical design with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish. An AlTiN (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding ferrous and hard-material environments. The tool features a straight cylindrical 0.5-inch shank and is center-cutting capable.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extended reach configuration, 1-inch reach length, and 0.47-inch neck diameter allow access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. Typical operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. It fits applications where a short-length, high-rigidity carbide tool is required for precision material removal across a range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore tool holders accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter. Recommended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron (material codes P, M, K) as primary workpiece materials, and non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (codes N, S, H) as secondary materials. Part of the ISCAR ECSI-E-3 series; catalog number ECSI-E-3 500-562-C500.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in a clean, burr-free collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge before initiating the first cut, particularly given the extended reach configuration.
