The ISCAR 5620945 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron applications. Built to the IC900 material grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN coating, this single-end tool measures 3/8 inches in diameter with a 0.437-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. Three right-hand helical flutes at a 38-degree helix angle provide an efficient balance of chip evacuation and surface finish. The straight cylindrical shank is 3/8 inches in diameter, and the extended-reach design supports access to deeper features. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations across a range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron as primary targets, with secondary capability in non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Supported operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The short flute length and normal pitch make it a reliable choice for general-purpose milling in vertical machining centers and CNC mills where rigidity and repeatability are priorities. Designed for use with standard 3/8-inch straight-shank tool holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K). Secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals (N), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight cylindrical shank in a collet chuck or end mill holder to the appropriate clamping torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates coating wear and reduces tool life. Always bring spindle to a full stop before tool changes.
